WUSC

“Ekata” Initiative

A social, thought provoking 360 media campaign initiative deployed on behalf of WUSC Sri Lanka (World University Service of Canada) on the subject of empowering youth to pursue careers in the Automotive, Hospitality, Information and communication industry and in the construction industry.

Insight

Learning from the real life, social trend of Youth in Sri Lanka, we discovered that majority of rural Sri Lankan youth who are not pursuing higher educational studies were further left out from obtaining skill based vocational training and job opportunities available due to the undermining norm created in the society towards these jobs.

Idea and solution

On behalf of WUSC (World University Service of Canada) Sri Lanka, we launched the campaign “Ekata” (Together) to empower Sri Lankan youth in pursuing these vocational training courses by painting a positive image towards the skill-based job opportunities.

Real life stories were identified to develop creatives which were implemented in a 360-degree media campaign, combining the elements of traditional and digital mediums.
